Max Caulfield’s (Life is Strange: Double Exposure) ability to merge timelines stems from her power to manipulate time itself. As she became more adept at shifting between two realities, one where her friend Safiya is alive and one where she is dead, she begins to notice the destabilizing effects on reality. Using her Polaroid camera as a tool to entangle events and objects between the two timelines, Max brings both worlds together. This merging results in a paradoxical state where both outcomes coexist in harmony, preventing the catastrophic storm threatening to tear everything apart. Through careful manipulation and the intertwining of the two timelines, Max is able to stabilize reality without erasing either version, balancing the best possible outcomes of both.
